Blauvelt, NY...The Bloomfield College men's soccer team played to a 1-1 double overtime tie with nationally ranked #6 Dominican College at the DC Soccer Field in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game.
Dominican sophomore Joe Wright (Stratford-Upon-Avon, England) opened up the game with a goal at 3:39 off the pass by senior Ryan Clancy (Pine Bush, NY) to put Dominican up 1-0.
The Deacons tied the game at 1-1 when Junior Walter Soto (North Bergen, NJ) netted a goal off of a blocked shot.
Charger keeper Robert Kelly (Kearny, NJ) had three saves, while Deacon keeper Julian Gairia (West New York, NJ) had four saves in a 110:00 minutes.
The Chargers out shot the Deacons 24-15 in a physical game that had a total of 45 fouls and six yellow cards.
The Deacons will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Caldwell College in CACC men's soccer action. Game time is slated for 4pm.
